My story

Emmanuel presenting at a workshop, gesturing towards the audience Hello! Moni! Olá!

From a family farm in southern Malawi to the lecture hall

Groundnuts, maize and pigeon peas from my family's farm paid my university fees. That shaped everything since: twelve years across academia, NGOs and industry, always asking how research can make a real difference for the people who grow our food.

I'm a transdisciplinary researcher. I model climate suitability, train machine learning models on drone imagery, and work with artists and storytellers to bring indigenous knowledge and farmers' voices into science.

Beyond research, I've worked in warehousing and hospitality. That hands-on experience of logistics, operations and serving people keeps my supply chain work grounded in how things actually move.
